Help! We are having P2 and Sony EX1 driver problems. Computer keeps crashing.

Yesterday, I loaded Sony's SxS driver onto my macbook pro, so that I'd be able to offload Sony EX1 footage. My macbook pro already had the Duel Adapter driver on it in order to handle our Panasonic P2 cards.

Today, I tried to load new Panasonic P2 footage using the macbook pro, but as soon as I popped the P2 card into our duel adapter, the macbook pro computer screen went gray and a message popped up saying that the computer needed to be turned off and rebooted. i've tried it multiple times now. Each time, the computer crashes.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Is this punishment for owning both? We didn't have this problem before loading the EX-1 driver onto this computer.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Any resolution for this problem?

Any resolution for this problem?

I was just about to load in the SxS drivers (and the related EX-1 software) for a gig I'm starting in the near future, and I stumbled onto your post...was this situation ever resolved? I too have a Duel Adapter (and the related P2 drivers on my MacBook Pro), and I cannot afford to lose P2 functionality...

Are the SxS cards and P2 cards unhappy bedfellows? I hope not, because it seems like work is now being split between the HVX and the EX-1, and I'd like to be able to move from one to the other without constantly uninstalling and reinstalling drivers--that sounds like a recipe for trouble...

(But it is nice to know that Sony created media that's compatible with the Express Card slot, and doesn't require a finicky adapter!)

Many thanks,
David
