Help wanted - setting up live capture with HVX

The HVX arrived... we 'were' excited -- of course we have no P2 cards becuase they're impossible to find (dude in Miami selling 4G for >$100 of list however). We do not want to downsample to tape.

Is anyone doing live capture, in a studio setting, and getting quality results? Can you tell me a bit about your setup. I have all this nice gear, 2TB of storage, a nice studio, etc.. and no way to easily capture native 720p. My Sony still works, but we've moving away from that becuase of the complete control the HVX offers.

We have been using a Sony into a PC using DVRack, editing in Adobe PPro or AE Pro (with CineForm). Neither work now (SD does of course), and neither support the HVX ProHD format.

FYI... I have not met anyone that has solved this issue without saying "buy a Mac and FinalCut HD" or "get an Avid instead".

You're not going to find someone offering other alternatives either, because there aren't any, except Canopus Edius Broadcast. Someone elsewhere said there was a trial version available; try downloading it and see if it does what you need.
