HELP!!! Transcoding 120FPS in Final Cut Pro

I am trying to transcode footage shot in 120 continuous FPS on the FS5. When I import the clip into Final Cut Pro the thumbnail is green and there is no video. Basically it seems like Final Cut Pro cannot read the clip. Catalyst browse isn't working on my computer so I need to transcode to prorres with Final Cut Pro. Has anyone experienced this before?

If you'd like, share a short test clip (via a file sharing service) and I'd take a look.

I've seen corrupted thumbnails before (and the green ones), but it's difficult to assess what the issue may be.

Final Cut processes all the other clips I shot fine (24fps) but for some reason the footage shot in 120 will not even transcode. I can't preview even preview the clip. It plays back fine in the camera.

In short, software requires support and sometimes things break during development.

Just a few weeks ago a new FCPX update completely broke some major camera's codecs/formats (but they fixed it via an update).

It's most likely one of these three things:

(1) Your FCPX needs to be updated if it's not.
(2) If it's the latest version, Apple broke it and hasn't fixed it yet.
(3) You need a FCPX plugin to work with the 120fps which can be found on Sony's website (if applicable).

Does VLC recognize and play the footage? Can you convert it to something else using Handbrake?

did you copy the clip manually from the card? Does FCPX see the clip when you attach the card and use the import dialog?
In general it can be helpful to be a little more specific with version of FCPX, OS and hardware.
