help some one please

Hey i have tried numerous times to capture from dvx to avid but i get this message (Eception: The deck is either off or not connected. Check your deck conections, or try disab;ing the TC track to capture on the fly. ) how do i do that :'(

What version of avid are you running?
Never have a problem with the last ones.
Have you try to reinstall it?
Just guessing. Wait for MichaelP

Not much info to go with here...

Mac, Windows, version, via Mojo or direct over FireWire?

The first thing I would try is going to deck configurations, deleting all channels and starting from scrtatch. Do not let the system autoconfigure. The DVX100 camera does not dec;are itself as such when doing this. Set each menu by hand. CLick apply and try again.

i hve avid xpress pro 4.6 and runing win xp pro with 3.2 ghz 1 gig of ram

I've had the same problem and Michael's suggestion did the trick, however, (just in case) --> make sure you have the camera on and plugged into the FireWire when you start Xpress Pro;
you might see this error if you don't.

if you are not worried about time code related capturing, meaning that the minutes on the tape means crap to you, just goto the capture tool, and you will see on the upper right hand corner a blue button that says, "TC" jus click it off, and voila.. but if your avid is not detecting your deck, fix that first.. haha..

what deck are you using? the camera?
