HELP! Shoot tomorrow, Need Sandproofing Tips

Hey guys!, I have a shoot tomorrow oceanside. I'm really concerned about the camera not getting sand or moisture in it, so I'm thinking of ways to help prevent that. I have a DVX100b, but we'll be shooting with a 12' crane, Marshall monitor, and few other small toys. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated! I want to cover the speaker and want not, but also do not want the camera to over heat. Points im worried about- onboard mic, XLR inputs, tape door, LCD, lens, speaker, and battery contacts. Last summer while on production in Mexico we destroyed an HD JVC, and severally injured a DVX and JVC. We are trying to avoid a repeat!

Other snag- I just found out we leave in 6 hours.

So again, much thanks in advance to anyone who has advice!

I shot video in Hawaii, mostly on the beaches for 17 years and NEVER lost a camera.

All it takes is just simply being careful.

You can wrap your camera in plastic if you want to prevent salt from accumulating, and all you need is a white t-shirt thrown on it to keep it cool.

I used Sony cameras for years and never had a problem. Just be cautious, careful and when you get home or back to the studio, make sure you wipe everything down with a damp cloth.

I took my camera to the beach one time and it was fine. Except for... the tripod. The sand was on the feet of the tripod, and when I put it back in the bag the sand moved from the feet of the tripod up to the head. Moral of the story: clean your tripod legs of sand before putting them away. I would consider gaffing up my camera next time I go to the coast. Xlrs, tape hatch, etc.
