I was filming Elk at Rocky Mountain National Park and had captured an incredible, once in a lifetime event. I continued filming for another 30 minutes and the bull elk came at me and started bugling. I had one full P2 and the other was flashing 1 minute. So I quickly deleted 1 clip which I "knew" was a throwaway to buy me another couple of minutes.
What I found out later was that the clip I deleted was the incredible scene.
I ran a disk recovery program on the P2 Card which was able to identify deleted mxf files and restored them. That's the good news.
But when I try to run them through raylight it tells me it does not appear to be a valid movie file and then terminates.
It appears like I have the video file. It is close to 1GB which is about right for the scene. Is there any other option to try and recover this MXF file? I don't seem to have the audio file but the audio was terrible anyway and all I need is the video.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
