So I just updated to ptool3.37d with the following settings:

Checking the following:

Version Compare Patch
Native 24p
Video Bitrate Adjustment FHD/SH simplified 50000000
Video Bitrate Adjustment H 50000000
Video Bitrate Adjustment L 16000000
Overall Bitrate Adjustment 52000000
Limiting Bitrate Adjustment 60000000
1080p24 GOP Size 12

And when I imported into FCP using Log and Transfer the clip came in STRETCHED at 2560x1080. Why is this happening. My FCP settings are unchanged from before when I didnt have this problem.

I'm using a Sandisc Extreme Class 10, 16GB, and my first priority is having the highest quality AVCHD footage possible.

Also if someone could possibly tell me if importing through FCP lowers bitrate I would be really grateful. Thanks!

Congrats, you have just created the first sub $1000 4K camera. Just get the vertical resolution up a bit and we can forget about the RED cameras. :engel017:

Just kidding of course. What does the video look like? Does it stutter?

I used similar settings with that Ptool version on my GF1 and it works but only in 720p though.

The video does not stutter at all, it is just stretched horizontally. I can changed the aspect ratio in FCP but I figure its entirely possible for there to be some loss in quality.

With this said, I'm thinking of keeping this setting so that I can get some cool looking anamorphic looking shots of nature, and other scenes in which the stretching isn't wildly apparent.

There is something else going on here that's not being mentioned. Footage shot with those settings in FHD mode results in normal 1080p resolution clips.

Download MediaInfo and post a screenshot after opening the original MTS files.
