Sony a7S camera got its battery emptied while shooting a video and as a result the video got damaged..
what can i do to recover it ?
thanks

Just an idea...this works with the old 5d3 RAW workflow. It may work here. If you are on a Mac...you can download a free program called MacHacha. This allows you to alpha join two files. What most likely happened is the file did not write the finalization code so it appears as damaged. If you join the damaged clip first, to a completed clip second...it may use the second clip's finalization code. When put into an NLE, it well read as 1 clip..but you will see both.

I would do this with 5D3 raw files and it worked fine. Not sure if it will work here...but its worth a shot.

There is a Panasonic program that does the same thing as MacHacha - in that it recovers files that were damaged in just the way your was. It actually works very well. Now this is an AVCHD file recovery program, but I mention it because SONY may very well have already put out such a program for their cameras - you just need to find it - or maybe some other variant that will do it.
