i am new to this forum i have got a problem the panasonic gh1 firmware 1.2 before applying the gh1 hack should iupgrade to the latest firmware and also with the 1.2 firmware is it different to getting into the service menu . thanks everybody.
I haven't hacked or owned a gh1 i got into 4/3rds with a GH2, from what i've read, you don't upgrade to the latest firmware offered by Panasonic as it releases a stealth update that doesn't allow for the hack. However when you install the hack on your old (hackable) firmware, the hack should update it to the point to where it was before the "stealth" update was there.
so basically no, don't update.
no idea about the service menu. good luck.
