Help please - Tokina 11-16 & Novoflex adapter

I purchased the Tonika for Nikon 11-16 wide angle lens and the Novoflex Nikon to MFT.
The iris control on the adapter doesn't close or open fully. How frustrating .

Any thoughts on this other than it doesn't fit?

yikes! I wish I could verify but I don't have either of those products. Maybe you should have bought the Tokina version instead of the Tonika? Bad joke... Are you able to take it back to try other adapters at the store?

I've got the same setup and have no issues. Have you mounted the novoflex on the lens (off camera) and looked at how the adapter's ring interfaces with the aperture tab? The range of motion on my adapter ring is from the closed endpoint (small o) to about a centimeter from the open endpoint (large O). Looking at the two interact, I can see that this restriction is due to the limited range of motion of the aperture tab (lens-side). In other words, the novoflex physically can't move the tab any closer to the large O because the lens is already wide open. The lens is actually going from fully open to fully closed, but the Novoflex ring is giving the impression that it's not getting to fully open.

All my Nikons have identical endpoints on the adapter, i.e. never reaching the large O despite being fully open.

I can try different lens at my local, but they don't have other adapters. Only one that comes to mind is this Voighlander but that's back ordered to last year. I thought there were some folks that used this combo?
Well see...thanks.

I hear what your saying about the adapter rings, lining up and the O----o

However, whenI try to close the iris all the way down, it's still partially open and it's showing an image in the cam.
That can't be a normal function of the combo?

No Nikon-mount lenses that I own or have used close all the way. I believe this is true of most SLR lenses.

There was an odd combination of how the parts are mounted that allowed the iris to be fully opened and lined up on the large O.
Can't replicate it now...haha

Don't know if you've seen this anywhere before, but on Novoflex adapters with aperture control rings (MFT/NIK) the control ring needs to be rotated to the fully open position (counter-clockwise for K and Alpha mounts, clockwise for Nikon, BEFORE a lens is mounted. From this point, rotating the ring stops-down the aperture. (NOTE: rotation direction is with lens pointing away from you.)

This may not have anything to do with what you're experiencing, but maybe the ring just wasn't rotated either fully or the right direction?

The Voightlander is a good quality adapter. Main reason to go with the Novoflex over that is if the lens doesn't have an adapter ring - like the Nikon-G series. The Tokina 11-16 lacks an adapter ring.

The Tokina 11-16 and 16-50 have No external iris ring on them. I don't believe the Voightlander adapter has iris control.

John - sorry to hijack your thread, but when you focus right out to infinity on your 11-16 on MFT are you in focus or do you have to pull back slightly? Mine won't focus quite at infinity - very frustrating when I'm very wide.

Mine does the exact same thing. I'm shooting the Tokina 28-70 with Voightlander F-Mount adapter and if I go all the way to infinity, it's blury. I have to pull back a tad to get focus. Can anyone offer some insite. I also have the Novoflex F adapter here bu tI havn't used it yet.
