Hi I am searching on winch lens i should buy for video shooting, i already bought a canon 60d, but now the main issue is glass....

i saw not so long ago in many forums they where telling me to go for the 24-70mm f/2.8 L , but in other forums they where telling me that buying one lens only its not the best choice for video, instead i should use the money that i would spend with one L lens and buy 3 lens... and the sugestions they gave me where the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4(working as 50mm cause of the 1.6 crop on the 60d) ,canon 50mm f/1.4, and the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8.
what you guys think??? i have a budget of 1700USD and i will need to shoot on low light conditions.
cheers

If you are a cinematographer working in fiction, commercials and other projects where its not a problem for you to cary around 5-6 lenses, then I would go with a set of primes like you said.
If your more the run and gun type, and money is an issue, I would go with the 24-70mm 2.8 from sigma. Just as good as the Canon one except that the Canon is more durable and weather proof. Or even the 24-70 2.8 from Tamron, thats even cheaper (but has reverse focus like Nikon)

I have the Sigma one and I am fairly satisfied. Only issue is a little bit of breathing, no biggie. Hopefully I will gather enough money to someday get the Compact Primes or baby primes.

what about the 11-16mm f/2.8 tokina???you think its a good one to go with the primes or i should fine something from 20mm above for the zoom ones??
and winch lens would you buy if you had a budget of 1.700usd for lens?

What are you shooting? Having a ultra wide is nice but .....

You wont know what you need until you start shooting. Aperture is one thing and Focal length is another.

If I had $1700 I would buy

Tamron 17-50 $400
Sigma 30mm 1.4 $450
Canon 50mm 1.8 $100
Rokinon 85M 1.4 $275
--------------------------------
$1225

I would use the rest of the money for supporting gear, such as battery grip, batteries, led light, loupe etc....

In the future, you will find a lot of this information in the appropriate section of the forum. Since this is an APS-C Canon camera we're talking about, you should have looked/posted in the lens section there.

sorry to post here, the thing is that i didn't even know what was a APS-C canon camera before i made the post...
but thank you for all the support...

No worries. :)
For future reference, most popular Canon DSLRs are APS-C sized sensors (7D, t2i, 60d, t3i, etc). The exceptions are the the 5D (full frame sensor), and the 1D (sort of in between full and APS-C). I know the sections can be confusing.
