Help - No EX-mode available with HDMI-monitor attached??????

Hi there,

I have a serious problem: I want to shoot tomorrow, so I rented a HDMI monitor, some zacuto & redrock stuff to make nice tele-shots with my GH2...
Now I tried it out tonight, and guess what I found: EX-mode (extra tele conversion) is apparently not available, when the HDMI-Monitor is attached?

Did someone else notice this, is there a way to solve this; or can someone confirm, that it IS acually possible (I hope so!), and I may have some mistakes in my settings???
It's an urgent problem, I'll have an actor there early tomorrow morning as well...

Monitor is a Marshall V-LCD70XP-HDMI, GH2 is Pal-model, I wanna film in 24p cinema mode (24mbit).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers, FD

Well... I'd use the ext monitor for color & exposure checking. Enable ETC and start using EVF. Good luck!

Thanks Barry, hmmm that's a real shame...
I'm thinking, I have this Sigma EX 70-200 Telemakro, guess I'll have to try and shoot wide open with this one at 200mm, and mount it on a extender...
I have a set of cheap alu extenders as well; should be doable as a solution, right? I have the Zacuto Baseplate with a lens support, otherwise the lens would probably be too heavy for the extenders...

Or does anyone has some alternative ideas?
I want to make macro-style images of the face, then roll focus towards the background etc.

Btw., I'm off now for a while, have to fix something else, back in 3 hours - but as I wrote before, I'd be very happy with feedback :-)

That's an idea as well, thx stonebat :-)

The disadvantage being though, I mainly want the external monitor in order to be able, to pull focus more precise, with a redrock ff...
