Help - Newbie question

I just bought a sony fs100 and was wondering if I plug an external monitor (like small-hd), will I still see my images on the onboard screen?

Yes, you will get the image on both screens. There is some degree of control over how much of the "overlay" information (settings indicators etc) is passed to the external display (including the option to have none).
