help never used this camera

Hi all
I have never really used this camera before, and would really appreciate some input with some concerns. I want the finished product to look as much like film as possible, and don't want to find out in post what settings I should have used - i hate when that happens. I want to be able to have the image projected in as close to a cinema look as is possible. I will be using final cut 4 hd to edit, and am pretty sure I want to use the 24fps in progressive mode. Someone mentioned I might want to use the "squeeze" feature, but, as of now, that means nothing to me. I am confused with how to set up the aspect ratio stuff.:crybaby: My situation is that the classes offered in my area do not meet the schedule /deadline for me to complete this project. I'm pretty sure I am making things more difficult than they need to be, so clarification on all the options would be greatly appreciated.:dankk2:

hey curious,
Sounds like you want to shoot 24PA and remove the advanced pulldown in FCP. 'Squeeze Mode' means the image is electronically squeezed onto a chip and unsqueezed in post. It is the poor man's anamorphic lens system. I recommend you use it as well. Gives you an image that is 16 units wide and 9 units high (16:9), more similar to the aspect ration that is seen in the theaters.

In FCP, just check the anamorphic box when capturing the image. if you forget to do so the image will be 4:3 and everything will be tall and skinny. No worries, in the file browser, you can click the anamorphic column and it will tag the footage as anamorphic.
