Help needed !!

Ok so I need the help of all the ad filmmakers out there.

I am a newbee and got my dvx100b less them 6 months ago. Needless to say I have very little experience with the camera let alone shooting ad's.

I am desperate to get any experience of filmmaking so i thought why not just apply to some big ad film agencies for an intern position. I sent a few emails and just forgot about it. To my utter surprise, one of the big guys called and have asked me to come to his office (In bombay). Its not a formal interview but i know that I have one chance to impress them.

Now i am very nervous as i don't even have a good portfolio.

Any suggestions as to what I should say and not say to get him to think that i am a good prospect to invest time?

My best advice to you is to be honest. If it's an intern position they may be willing to bring you on with very little experience as long as you're willing to work hard and learn.

There's nothing more annoying to an interviewer than having a prospective employee artificially inflating their skills and/or experience, no matter the field you're in.

In your specific case, I would try to work on your portfolio, polish up what you have...though I'm not sure how much time you have.

Good luck.

I agree with appollyon. Unless you inflated yourself in your original queries, then they know where you are at, and they are looking for someone who they can train but is willing to work their ass off. If you orgininally embelished your resume, then you straight up don't deserve to get the job and should learn a lesson for next time.

no resume just an email and yes I made it very clear that I am new and have very little experience. No question of embelishing my resume.

I have about a week before i meet this guy so i guess i willl try my best to polish what I have.

cheers,

In Bombay? I hope you live in India. If not, I dont see a reason to spend all that money on a plane ticket. And plus, now you can bring any bottled water or shaving gel.
