I have a DVX100AP and I can't record anymore. When I turn it on the screens is black and the record button will not respond. On the screen is says "processing..."
and below it says "A 20 0005K"

Has anyone ever seen this before?
It's odd. I have no idea what it's processing. I've tried resetting the cameras, playing with the settings. I'm somewhat new to the Panasonic, I've been using Canon XL's so I'm not familiar with all of the Panasonics settings.

Please Help! Thanks!

You may have, without knowing, accessed the camera CPU menu and accidently changed some settings which could cause such a problem. I suggest you bring it back to where you got it, hopefully you have it under warranty at the store, if they dont accept it, contact panasonic, it should be covered under the 2-year warranty, it could also just be a production flaw, it happens, i have never heard of that ever happening, but, **** does happen

hope this helps

thanks for the questions, suggestions, and advice.

it does not make an odd clanking sound when turned off. the only odd thing that is happening is the "processing".

it does seem like a problem with the cpu rather than the tape deck, but that's just an assumption. maybe the tape deck needs to be cleaned?

it did just happen by itself without changing any settings. one minute it was fine and i was recording. i turned the camera off. then turned it on few minutes later and i couldn't record because it's processing.

i will probably end up taking it in.

thanks again.

no problem - i did try a brand new tape. same result.
thanks for the suggestion though.
i think it's a lost cause. gonna have to take it in.

Before take it in , try to reset back to factory setting , go to camera mode, select
camera manual , select #7 (other function ) , select user file , select initial
, select YES , turn off power , this will clear all the wrong setting out of the memory ,
it will rectify all the funny problem , including the time code reset problem . allways
give 7 sec. time for the camcorder to finish close down sequence then remove the
battery or the dc cord after switch to off , also 7 sec. when install the battery then
switch to on , people often does't give time and caused bad data stored into memory
, funny problem will starts .
