Help! My capture resolution is poor but viewing footage on Scopebox is fine

Ok. I'm a noob so please bear with me. I'm using a DVX100B, FCP 6.0.2, sony tapes, no adapter, macbook pro 2.5 (newest model), scopebox 1.1. DVX is set to letterbox mode, 24pA, didn't change the default settings that much.

When I view my footage on my camera and via firewire connection to Scopebok on my laptop, the footage resolution is much better than when I view it on FCP or QT after capturing the footage. I've tried capturing in different settings, standard NTSC 29.97 and 24pA but the problem still exists.

I've searched the forum and can't seem to find an answer. (granted, I may not be searching properly). I'm including screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about. Scopebox is first and that is the best resolution. The next are how the same footage post-capture looks in FCP and QT respectively.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like scope box is just doing a better upscale than the others. The native resolution is only 720x480, and you're viewing approx 200% in all the examples.

Joshua and Shibuya, thanks for answering.

Shibuya, I set the FCP playback preferences to high quality. Is that what you're asking me?
