First I love my dvx100. I rent it out on occasion to other people. lately it has been out on rental a lot. when it went out last time the renters called to say they were haveing a problem...
the threaded insert had split in halve. I callled the previous user and they could not recall a problem. the theads will still lock onto a quick release plate but will ocasionally not.
I have used this camera sparingly in the last two years since purchase, (109hrs). how can this be fixed.
I have experienced a similar problem on a Indie feature with a brand New 100a, but that was caused by a dolly grip allowing the jib to raise at an extreme rate and stop shooting the camera off the dolly. we were able to continue but had to zip tie the camera to the head.
I would like to fix this but am wondering if it might be user repairable. I have replace similar thing on Sony betasp, and Jvc's.
has anyone had a similar issue? the last renter said he has heard of similar issues.
