Help: Missing audio channel from P2?

I'm new to P2/HVX as of this week , and I'm new to Avid (Xpress Pro HD) as of yesterday.

Anyone else having audio issues importing P2 files? I've copied the files off the p2 card into the Avid media folder as instructed. Then I bring the clips up in the media tool and they show up just fine. But the audio channels are mixed up or something. We recorded two different mics into the HVX (and on playback from the HVX both channels are there). But when I open the clip in Avid it brings the audio channels up as:

1- blank
2- mic 1
3- mic 1
4- blank

Any ideas? I know it's kinda an obscure question, but I'm at my wits-end, and if I can't get the audio to import properly I can't really move on and do anything else. So I figured I'd throw it out there.

Thanks!

Problem solved.

Here's the deal... in case anyone else runs into this one. I imagine since the editing options on the PC are so slim, as more people migrate to the HVX this will pop up again.

The Avid help file says that you should copy both the audio and video off your P2 card into the folder:

<drive letter>:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1

What it doesn't mention is that if you have multiple cards, you should make individual folders for them (<drive letter>:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\2, <drive letter>:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\3, etc...). Otherwise it gets confused, and in my case that confusion manifested itself in missing audio. Maybe this is obvious to other users out there and that's why no one has had this problem? But it wasn't obvious to me and it would only take a clear explanation in the Avid docs to prevent such a screw-up.

After having video problems and having to roll-back my nVidia drivers, then having this problem working with MXF files cause of shoddy documentation... I gotta say my first impression with Avid is a very very bad one.

Its clunky as hell but once you get used to it its cool. I hate working in it sometimes and I hate that you cant just have a slice tool where you click and slice instead of having to select the layers first set the play head over the place you want to slice and then click the damn button. It would also be nice if you can select the tracks and drag them over without having to select the tracks select the right tool and try to slide them over. The snap to edit sucks too, it should work like premeires and its a pain having to go back to something earlier in the timeline because it fcuks everything up down the line after. ok im starting to rant....stopping now.
