I am capturing through the dvx100b directly into premeiere cs4 for an interview, but the audio is so low is does not even register on my waveforms I am cranking it up but that only makes it noisy. I am using a Shure VHF Lavalier Mic. with receiver right into the XLR Jack. Is there anyway too increase volume. I have my talent screaming and still no luck!

there's two places to adjust the incoming audio from the xlr jack:

one is on your camera. the other is on your lavalier. there's a hole in your lavalier that you need to stick a tiny flat head screwdriver into to adjust the volume on the microphone.

set your camera audio input level to 90%. then have your subject do a soundcheck. look at the camera's display of the audio single, and adjust the volume at the lavalier with the screwdriver. having your subject talk loud, get the highest possible signal from the lavalier without it going to red on the camera's display. it's a great sounding mic and thats the way to get the best possible sound from that mic.

however...
sometimes our subjects will talk or sing or shout louder during a perfomrance then they would a sound check. and rightfully so cause you want solid acting or whatever. always mind your audio signal on your camera. if during a take you see it peeking out, then use the camera's audio dials so it doesnt peek to red.
