Help me understand how scene files work...

I am really having a hard time wrapping my head around how scene files work.
Searched forums, read the manual, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

1. If I change one of the 6 factory scene files, is there a way to reset them back to the default?

2. I read I can save the files to the card, or load them from the card to the camera, but they only allow 4 scenes to be saved, according to the manual.
But the camera has 6 files. What am I missing?

3. I read on the panasonic site about adding 18 more scene files to the original 6 on their other cameras. http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/scene_files.asp?model=HPX170
Is there a way to add new scene files and leave the original 6 available on the HMC150?

I'm normally pretty clever, (I think), but on this I feel hopelessly lost.

Backup the defaults to a card and save the folder off the card. You can always revert after making changes on the camera. Also, if you login to the PASS World site - there is a "Professional Scene File Settings" document for the HMC 150. There is a table in the doc that lists all the default settings.

The camera can only store 6 Scene files at any given time.

OK...that gets me closer, thanks.

But the instructions lead me to believe you can only have four files on the card, not six.

If you search the forums, somewhere around here there is a download for all the scene files Panasonic released for the HPX in HMC format. Fun place to start seeing all of the things you can do with the scene files.

Yes, go to load/save/init and choose "init"

Yes, because you can just go to the "init" to get the factory file back.

I can not figure out how to LOAD scene files that were custom mixed onto my camera, I tried tossing a SCENES folder inside PRIVATE folder on the sd card, tried putting it outside the PRIVATE folder, then tried LOAD from the scene file menus....nada.

I must have not learned how to read in school because I do not see instructions for this in the manual.
Thanks

Ok, I figured out how to get the scene files I downloaded onto the card and use them in camera. My question now is, I assume if I format the card, those scene files will be gone? kind of lame you have to load them up every time you format a card? which I do often.

(btw for other morons like myself, I found the how to on the panasonic scene file webpage for the hvx camera)

Drove me crazy when I first got it too -- I'm so used to always formatting the P2 card, so I tried the same with the HMC150 and all my metadata and scene files disappeared! :) So yes, now I just use "delete->all clips" and it seems much more workable.
