I've been helping my church make some videos for the past year, and its been a great learning experience. We want to make some new videos for this next year, and I've got a $1000 to get some new gear to help up the level of the videos. I've got:

2 GH2's w/ plenty of memory cards and all the lenses I'll need
Slider
Tripod
Steadicam
H1 w/ cheapier lav (getting good results in our environment).

I don't have:
backdrop & stand
lights
good audio solution
teleprompter

I'll mostly be doing talking head shots, with 1-2 people. So far, I think lighting is my biggest concern, then audio, and then working with the "tallent" (teleprompter).

What gear can you recommend? Knowing that I don't have much cash. I know the "save to get good stuff, it pays off better in the end", but alas, that's not an option.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Get the lights w/ softboxes or umbrellas. With your budget, you should have an okay selection of kits to choose from.

I agree with Kindredmachine. Your audio is more important - put your money there. I have these lights http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HWV7O0 They are cheap, plastic, a pain to assemble and for durability I think best if left assembled. But they are great for an interview. The light wont go much more than a two shot though. I haven't noticed any flicker issues with the GH2 at 50 shutter speed. I use this backdrop http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/303021-REG/Botero_C02357_023_Collapsible_Background_5x7.html but it could be a little small for two people. It is light enough you could get two cheap light stands and just clamp it between them. That would leave you around $650 for some decent audio.
