How do I render individual already edited clips from a project in my timeline into an AVI file? I'm using Vegas 6.

A friend is doing Special effects for me in a separate computer, I wanna be able to give him the indivial clips which he will put the effects on. He doesn't have Vegas, he's going to use After Effects to ad the special effects then give that same file back to me, so all I have to do is just replace the effects clip with the original in my vegas timeline.

I know I can give him the original clips, then I can just redit it to match after he adds the effects, but he says it would be easier if I can give him the clips already edited in the timeline as an AVI file. So I need to render each edited clip individually, how can I do this without rendering the whole project?

double click on a clip in time line ( or highlight a section) and that will highlight it ...
when you render check the box "render loop region only ... you do each one separately ..
for quality purposes you may want to give AE person a uncompressed AVI ?

now somebody might have a script that will do this auto

Thanks for the great tips guys,

Does it matter how I render the file? If my original project is on a 24pwidescreen timeline, using 2-3pulldown, should I render the file the same way? I'm just afraid when my AE guy gives the file back nothing will be off when I re-render it to the whole project.

You can use the Batch Render script.

Where can I get this script David?
