I alresdy posted this question but no one answer...I was testing my 16 Gb cards in my brand new HPX and when i put the 4th one ...start to flash in RED Dir Entry NG Card n 4

What this suposed to mean??? HElp me!!
The end of the flashing message change as I changed the slot ...

Dir Entry NG Card 1 or Dir Entry NG Card 2...

I made some tests and when I formatted the card the message's gone...but when I put the card in the Laptop and transfer the content folder and deleted the content to put again in the camera slot the message comes again...

Anyone knows??

Jan?? Barry? Please…

Directory entry no good -- something messed up the file system on the card. Are you deleting the files from the card on a Mac or PC laptop?

yea its weird on my pc I'll cut the contents folder...it will be gone but what happens is for some reason the computer puts back an empty Contents with all directories back on the card...even though I just wiped it out...then I incert the card in to camera and it freeks out...hapens on the HVX as well with P2 format eeror...I hate formating in camera so this really upsets me...

If you're doing this on a PC under Windows, try Ctrl-A in Windows Explorer to select all items, then hold down the Shift key and hit the Delete key (or click on the delete icon in the Windows Explorer toolbar). That will delete the files rather than moving them to the Recycle Bin.

and deleted the content to put again in the camera slot
It's user error. Stop deleting the directories that are supposed to be on the card.

Problem is, it didn't used to be this way.

Here's the deal: apparently with the new firmware upgrade, the camera doesn't automatically create the directory structure on a completely-blank card anymore. If you format the card on a Windows PC, it works perfectly because the directory structure is created. If you format the card in-camera, or in a P2 Store or P2 Gear, the directory structure is created. All works well.

But if you delete that directory structure, the camera won't recognize it as a valid card and it'll bring up error messages like "FORMAT ERR". The solution is to properly format the card either on a Windows computer or in the camera. For Mac users, no "format" utility yet exists. So for a Mac user, the proper way to erase your card is to use P2CMS, select all clips, and delete them.

The point is: things have apparently changed, and you have to adapt. Don't go deleting the directories off the card -- that makes the card unreadable. Either format in-camera, or on the PC, or use P2CMS to delete all the clips. But do not, under any circumstances, ever delete all the directories again.

I know -- lots of people have been doing that, but that doesn't work anymore. And it won't work with the HVX either. The new firmware doesn't allow that workflow anymore.
