is it possible to apply 2 or more masks? I would like to have the lights on in the rear car too

As many masks as you want until your computer smacks you :)

If you use them on the same layer (instead of maiking a new layer with a new mask) you may have to toggle the add, subtract, or intersect setting in the dashboard and or toggle invert on and off.

to play with layers or move them around, make sure "layers" is checked under the "view" menu and you'll see the layers like in photoshop.

JDS awesome posts....... you went to so much trouble. Dont want to blo smoke up you a hole, but its people like you that make this site what it is.

As a relative newbie to FCPS (ditched ppro) things like this are invaluable.

Can i just say though before you ditch one NLE caused you annoyed about price structure...... please remember the cost to your time personally. Anyway my results on FCP have been awesome. Best stuff I have done as far as editing.

Thanks for the kind words dude

This site allows me to procrastinate and help others at the same time. :cheesy:

One reason why that scene can't look like it's taking place at night is because of the lighting and where the light source is coming from. Notice the shadow of the trees; I guess you could explain that the moon is up on top; but what about the bright headlights hitting the road? It may be a good idea to take away those shadows if you could. I guess you could try and make it look like there's a street lamp on top, which gives a lot of light wchich creates those shadows (and is a reason why the shadows don't disappear in front of the low beams).

you are right, but day for night is frequently less than perfect.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Of course the easiest thing to do would be just drive those two cars down the road at night again. You don't even need the original talent.
