Help me buy Graphics card!

My old editing computer is pretty old so I'm planning to upgrade my computer.

I'm getting Intel Core i7 with 4 - 8 GB DDR3 Ram on ASUS Motherboard

I use Premiere CS4 on XP (7 by the end of the year), mostly 1080 HD editing, sometime Red One 4K. Also use After FX and Maya.

I read ATI will cause problem with Red One footage. Nvidia is the way.

Can you guys help me choose?

1. GeForce 9800GT 1GB PCI EXpress 16X dual head

2. GeForce GTS 250 1GB PCI EXpress 16X dual head

or something else?

Thank you in advance!

I am an Ati guy myself and would say you really need to look at the dfferent bentchmark test

also for Nvidia I would stick to Evga, Xfx or Bf.

Ps. buy everthing @ newegg.com

One thing to keep in mind, is that CS5 is a few months away, and the Mercury Engine is supposed to be optimized to take full advantage of Nvidia's CUDA technology... ATI is down the road supposedly, but Nvidia will be ready right out of the gate. So I would make sure that whatever card you get first and foremost is compatible with CUDA.

I also second the Newegg plug.

I agree with Mike on all counts. And I'm eager to see a 64bit capable After Effects!
