HELP! I play my GH2 files with Windows Media Player and the picture is squashed!

Hey everyone. I finally recorded some 1080p 24 footage on my GH2 and when I transfer the MTS files onto my hard drive and trya and play them with Windows Media Player, the picture is squashed down to a thin horizontal line in the middle of the screen! I have never had this problem when playing my GH13 footage with Windows Media Player. I imported the GH2 files into Premiere Pro 5 and they play normal in Premiere so, it has to be a WMP problem. Any solutions besides using a different player like VLC? Which player is proven to work best with GH2 AVCHD files?

I convert .mts to .wmv with Koyote Soft's free video converter 2.91 - and then play in Windows Media Player and edit with the copy of Windows Movie Maker that came with my old Vista machine. It's not fancy, but it's free.
