Place the camera on F5 (knob on the back of camera) or use any "F" setting you want to change (F1-F6). Press the Menu button and go into the Scene File option (1.). Keep clicking down until you reach the middle of the 2nd page. Go to the "Progressive" option. Click and choose 30p. Click "menu" 2 times and you are back out. Walla. You might want to go back and check to make sure "Progressive" is set to 30p. Remember to change it back to 24p (or whatever it was), when you're done.

disjecta, My F4 is not set to 30p. I guess that's what I get for buying a used DVX100.

No DVX comes factory-configured with F4 on 30P.

That's odd... the F4 preset is usually "black stretch"...

Sorry about that, I was the script super on a shoot yesterday and they were useing dvx's. Unfortunatly they didnt know how to set 30p on the camera, and since I wasnt the one shooting I didnt have my book with me, so I let the AC log into my account to ask the question. (I don't normally double post, no really!)
Then the shoot went over 12 hours, I woke up with a cold and I am barely coherant enough to use the boards.
Anyway, the shoot went off great, its for a short that will be apearing on the sprint cell phone network in january.
