Help Help Help!!!

Hey guys,

Was hoping this subject title would get someones attention as the last one I posted got no responses whatsoever. Thanks. Anywho I need help with one matter as I am filming this event for someone tomorrow. I was wondering if someone out here can help me out with camera settings. I've been messing around with the settings a little for a black and white short I shot not too long ago and was wondering what would be th ideal settings for shooting a birthday party for someone. Settings that would make things look more natural or something. If not something best for this kind of thing could someone please post the factory settings for an event like this in the F1 file for 30P I guess? Thanks

Also

How would I go about turning about 3 hours of video into a playable dvd? would i need final cut with dvd studio pro or...? This may seem like a silly question but I just want to make sure I have all my ducks in order. Pleas respond to any of this asap as I leave to do this thing at welll....10ish of this morning. Thanks!

Camera settings for a birthday party?!? Uh, if your battery is charged, you know where the to find the "rec" button, and as long as you don't fall over, you should be fine. :-) There's a menu button on the DVX to restore factory settings, including scene files, but I think the F1 default is simply everything at "0."

To your second question: If you had Premiere, you could export and burn a simple DVD right from your timeline, but with Apple I think you need to have the dedicated DVD authoring program (DVD Studio). But, don't all macs come with a bubbly user-friendly program called iDVD or something? If that isn't so, and if you don't want/need to bother with menus and buttons, there are plenty of 15$ shareware programs out there that will convert AVI/MOV to DVD files for burning. Just search on www.download.com

Also, to get that natural and correct filming color/look, make sure you adjust your white balance about every 20 minutes. Just bring a piece of white printer paper with you, hold it in front of the camera so it takes up the whole lcd, and then press that AWB button in the front of the cam. If you have that all set up, and continue to do so, you will have nice and constant coloring throughout the entire length of your recorded footage.
