Ok so I finished my short film and edited and music everything is perfect.
I Edited on my Mac Power mac using my M-Audio studio pro 4 speakers and I burned a copy to DVD to take a look and listen in my theatre where my 92 inch screen and projector are. and while using the reciever and with the sub on I hear every thump from the footsteps on sounds in a deep Base. Now I do not hear these in my computer speakers or on a tv without a sub attached. is it that the sub is to high up? or is there a way to go into the audio timeline and bring down the Base? I am running final cut pro

Please help

Cant help you with editing but what sub are you using. You should not hear anything from your sub that is above 80-100 hz if you have set up the system correctly. You could adjust the cut in point when your sub takes over to a very high setting as a means to eliminate the sub.

I have a rel 400 Quake it has a rolloff setting which i set at 70 max. adjust it down and see what happens.

Has your sub got a phase adjuster, if so adjust it to a different setting and see if the problem is still there.

Perhaps a quicker way is to connect your sub to your normal tv. This should have a switch that allows you to use an exterior sub try your sub on the tv and see if it is there too.

Hey Skrott!

It is most likely a mix issue. Low end frequencies are the hardest to balance out correctly. If I'm thinking correctly, the studio 4 speakers are only 4 inch cones. Which means no bass.

You can try to eq your overall audio by notching out (going to negative numbers) 60hz and even try somewhere around 250 also. That may take care of some of the issue. It's hard to tell without hearing it.

Send me a sample of the audio file and I will see what I can do for you.
