Help grading image

Hey all,

I was hoping I could get some AF100 experts here to have a go grading this shot. It's one of the weakest image we have in our web series and we're doing everything we can to try and get some life back into the skin tone. Going for bright, punchy, vibrant, very natural but saturated. Give it a stab and let us know what you did!

This is the best I could do:

My very quick swing at it.

Lots of issues in this shot. It's very high contrast, and there is an odd green tint in their skin that is hard to correct for.

EDIT: Hmm. DVXUser's photo management makes my png look different. Oh well...

yes, i am aware of the issues with this shot. The lighting was not ideal so there is not as much color information

It's more than the lighting, though. There is an odd green tint to the whole image. I have never used the AF100, but this does not seem like something it would do naturally...

Step by step in Photoshop. Tried to stick with basic tools your video program might support. Brightness contrast hue saturation and secondary corrections.

Values are in Photoshop scales

1st step: brightness -30, contrast +65
B-30C+65 copy.jpg

2nd step: master hue -7 saturation +50

h-7s+50 copy.jpg

3rd step: Cyan correction: hue +33 sat -60 , Magenta correction Hue +41 Sat +78

The film convert image is on top and my attempt to match it is on bottom. Just a little more tweaking and I think we should be good to go!

Yeah, filmconvert is friggin magic. It's almost a shame how good it makes an image look with just a preset. It's almost like I don't need to grade anymore... : (

looks like it's only avialable for mac or cs 5.5 and higher, can't get the stand aloen version to run on windows.

Just out of couriosity... When you did these grades, did you use any meters in the editing program such as vectorscopes or did you grade this based on your eyes? =)
