GH5 Help! Gh5 sensor - Bad pixel row?

Hi,

I am out shooting with my GH5 and suddenly a ugly line appeared across the image! :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

Anybody who knows what it is? Is it something I can fix? I am out traveling and filming for a documentary far away from any service place. I brought a GH4 as back up but I would really like to be able to use the GH5 (for many reasons!).

I have attached a screenshot from a sequence with high ISO where the ugly line is very clear.

Please help!!!

Hi

It's a fault in the sensor, you would not be able to repair this yourself. There is an option in the menu system to hide bad pixels, typically when one or two go "hot" the camera will map them to good adjacent pixels to hide the problem. Now this may get rid of it largely, but if it does, it is likely the repaired column of pixels would still be visible in certain shots, and it makes it harder to return it for replacement.

I would recommend getting it exchanged.

Regards

Phil
