Help for the worst FCP newbie

As the title said, I'm the worst newbie on FCP, but I still need answers as I can't figure it out myself, I googled for hours, also on DVXuser, did not get the answers:
-I have a FCP version 5 and a HVX200 PAL, is it possible that there are PAL versions and NTSC versions for FCP.
-I don't have a P2 card yet, is it possible to record to macbook via firewire, PLEASE IS THERE A SIMPLE TUTORIAL FOR SUCH SET UP ofcourse I'm hoping to record in DVCPROHD in 1080, or worst in 720.
-I shooted some footages on the tape of HVX, I tried all what I could to capture these data into FCP, no use, always give errors about timecode and so, I tried the very basic methods, even to capture 2 secs, no use, IS THERE ANY SIMPLE TUTORIAL FOR THAT TOO.
-Final question, does it worth it to upgrade to FCP 2 version 6, I'm a very very newbie FCP user, am I gonna miss some BIG HITS new tools.

If you do not have version 5.1.x or later, then FCP is incompatible with the Macbook, because it is an Intel Mac.

There aren't PAL and NTSC version of FCP.

If you have 5.1.x or higher, it would be difficult to stream 1080 out FW to the internal drive of the MB, and you don't have a way to create a second FW bus on the MB.

You need both FCS2 and a computer that is scalable.
