help for a rookie

John-
Don't be so mean. A MOJO setting would be cool though:)

ABRAYDEWAN-
He's kiddin'. Don't take it personally. He is trying to make the point though, that these forums are here for two main reasons... 1) To solve problems when other options are exhausted. 2) To provide a book for newbies, such as yourself, to read. The old timers get kinda sick of writing things down multiple times, as I am beginning to experience that myself. Besides to answer such a broad question would take about 3 to 10 years depending on how thorough the answer is.
The quick answer to "get that film look"... You're gonna' have to read a lot, go to school, obsess over the forums, intern, and eventually bring it all together by working with someone who knows. Is it in the lighting? Yes. Is in the editing suite? Yes. Is it in the camera? Yes. It's a combination of all the above. You can and should start with the forums, but read as much of them as you can before you post.
good luck

Also, you posted in the wrong section... Very important.
