Help fix a transition problem after exporting!!

I'm finishing up a project in FCP, it looks great until I export it and the quality gets worse and the fade to black transitions look super pixelated. Check it out: http://vimeo.com/14881892 Password="fcp". If you pause during the transition you can see what I mean.
Settings I used in compressor are H.264 restrict to 5000 kbits/sec, 1280 x 720. It looks the same whether I export from FCP or Compressor. If I export with the self contained quicktime movie option in FCP it looks good but obviously the file size is way to large to upload to vimeo.

Any ideas what it could be? I've tried lots of different export settings and nothing works. My source media is in Apple's intermediate codec. I haven't had this problem before editing in Final Cut Express but I switched to pro mid-way through this project.

Crapple raped one of my films with their shitty software. Once you encode your files into their proprietary formats your at the mercy of it, and if its the same regardless of what codec you render out to, then crapple raped you too.
