Help ...fall

First post here and it's a bad one!!!

Shooting a long and intense project with a lot of people involved, with a 100A, and it was just knocked over! It fell hard and the battery went to pieces. I put a new battery in and it came back on but a message saying AUTO OFF CYLINDER LOCK flashes and it's frozen like that as long as a tape is in there. If you take the tape out, everything seems to function just fine. Somehow the lens isn't ruined, I hope.

Advice on what to do? Yes, send it to a repair center, but advice on the best way to do this? Any idea of how the costs might work out? I'm broke now, not to mention the $80 battery that is ruined and the mic mount that snapped. Am I looking at $300 or more like $500 you think? Is it even worth repairing?

HELP!!!

It means the drum which rotates the tape is not spinning. If it's broken, it will cost 700$ to replace. You could take a look at it though. It's possible it came loose some how and you could fix it.

I just looked at it with the tape door out of the way. The heads aren't spinning smoothly at all. It's sticks for some reason. I can't figure out how that could happen as it looks in specs. I wish I knew how they were made inside to understand it better. It's $700 for that?? I may as well trash it and get an HVX. Damn.

This exact thing happened to me. I know your pain!!!

Check a page down and you will see my post. I screwed up more than the drum and the repair cost is $1275.00 total. Sadly, I have things lined up and am forced to fix it and recoup the costs later.
