Long story short I was filming an event with the DVX100b and an external recorder ( Focus Fs-5 DTE). The problem was only noticed after the event was over, but while recording, one of the cameras was white balanced. The white balance button was held down a second too long which apparently shorted out the signal and scrambled the footage?
Nothing changed on the camera lcd, and sadly the DTE didn't stop recording so the footage remained scrambled for the rest of the event. I have been able to recreated this problem but I'm guessing its safe to assume that the footage cannot be recovered at this point?
I don't know if this has even happened to someone but it completely destroyed all of the footage from a 2hr event.
Why did this happen? :thumbdown
Example. Audio is loud so beware.
