I cleaned the heads thinking that my heads may dirty and that is why the camera won't record. I can view tapes footage but it will buzz saying there is no tape in the cassette slot. When I hit record it won't work. Any thoughts.
From what i understand (info may not be 100% accurate) dv cams make a connection to the 4 metal connectors on the bottom of the tape. These tell the cam what length tape it is (90LP or 120 LP) and some other data. If the conectors on the camera side are dirty I would think the camera would not know what kind of tape it has in it and flash no tape.
Other then that, IDK but if it were my cam I would try cleaning those terminals.
