Hi,

I Have A Dvx-100 And I'm Having Problems With The Audio Levels When I Connect A Phantom Powered Mic To Either Channel. I Use A Seinheisser Boom Mic And I Have To Practically Yell Into It For The Camera Any Audio Levels. Is There Something Broken, Like A Fuse?

The Audio Works Fine On The Internal Mic, And When I Connect A Wireless Lav. I Also Have Made Sure The 48k Phantom Power Is Switched On.

Is There A Device Available That Helps Boost Phantom Audio?

Thanks

Sounds like your mic is outputting low levels; there's a menu adjustment in (I think) the recording setup menu that lets you choose -50dB or -60dB. Try changing that setting to the opposite of whatever it's currently set at.

Yes, I did that too and that didn't work either. Not sure but I think it something internal w/ the camera. Any suggestions on what needs to be fixed?

Also, if the mic is switchable between phantom and battery power, are you sure the mic is set right?

Audio Gain Level

I have the audio gain all the way up and I've made sure the phantom mic is set correctly.

Any other suggestions? Thanks

I don't mean to insult you, but what input are you plugged into and what input number are your channels set to?

That's not the problem... I think the problem may be internal with the camera.

I've had the mic plugged into input 1 & 2, and the channels have been set correctly to the right input.

I've had this camera for a few years, so I know how to operate it.

Have you tried other mics with the DVX, or tried your mics with another device? We're starting to run out of options here (besides bringing the camera into a service center).

You have to start an elimination process.

You know the camera, Is the mic. your standard mic ?
Did you switch PH-48 on ?

Try connecting a dynamic mic of any kind.
change the XLR cable

Usually the most stupid things are to be checked first.

I've done everything everyone has mentioned dozens of times. It works but it's extremely low, even with all different types of mic's (Lav, Boom, etc.). Thanks for all your suggestions

It looks like I'll need to have it serviced. Can anyone suggest a good/trustworthy service center in NYC?
