How do you guys prevent this? It seems like the only time I ever notice dust on the sensor is when I get home and view it on my computer. How do I prevent this? Should I make it standard practice to go to F16 and blow out my highlights with a high ISO before i start filming? Does that work?

Use a blower and run the sensor cleaning option. If you live or work in dusty environments then change lenses with the sensor facing down. Learn how to clean the sensor with swabs. It's kind of necessary to know how to maintain your digital camera.

Thanks. I do have a blower. I was just wondering if there's a way to check for dust on the sensor before I get home?

I check for dust by stopping down a lot, and pointing the camera at a light source or the sky.

I read that you had experience with a7sII sensor cleaning. Can you share some tips? How to deal with moving sensor?
Just don't apply much pressure. I made a dumb mistake when I was out in the field and noticed specks on the sensor. I blew on it and of course I actually spit a little too. Ugh. I was done. It took several passes with the wet swab method to clean it. Sensor Brushes are great for just dust. You use c02 compressed air and blow the brush tip, This adds a charge to it so the dust attaches to the bristles. A hand blower and a Sensor brush is the first step.

As Erik mentioned bulb blowers often blast more dust onto a sensor then they remove. If you insist on using a blower at least store it in Ziplock bag.

A better solution is Visible Dusts Arctic Butterfly. You don't want to be wet swabbing in the field, & the Arctic Butterfly is usually effective, & easy to carry.

In the past I wet swabbed, but hated every moment, so on the rare occasion I have more stubborn specs I typically get the sensor professionally cleaned, which runs about $50.

Visible Dust has a demo of the Arctic Butterfly being used on the A7rII
