Help dealing with 24p (with pulldown) and straight 29.97 timelapse footage

I have footage shot from P2 HVX200 in 24P and 24PA mode that has pulldown, which I can remove. But I need to mix this footage with other timelapse footage running at 29.97, which does not have pulldown. Of course these clips work fine within an Avid 29.97 project, and look great when played back out of Avid. But I need to export the output for AVC HD conversion in Sorenson, and after that I always see the pulldown judders. So my solution with the pulldown is to remove it prior to edit and make it 23.976 footage. No problem, except that now what do I do with the straight 29.97 timelapse footage I need to go with it, which of course doesn't have any pulldown? Can I make it run at 23.976? This is a real puzzle for me.

Some of the stuff I want to mix with it is progressive, but some is 1080i. It's timelapse, so if it looks slowed down or stuttered, that would ruin the look of it. I guess a possibility would be to do a fluidmotion timewarp on the 29.97 to speed it up 20%, then convert it in After Effects to 23.976.
I'm puzzled by how people deal with this issue without a deck. I suppose if I had a deck and were using that as an output device, the whole 2:3 pulldown problem would not be there. As I said, in Avid, everything mixes nicely, but once I output for conversion in Sorenson, it pulldown nightmare, and everything needs to be 23.976. If I'm missing something here, let me know. I wish there were a way to "record" video back into Avid as though played out at real time speed, and I would therefore not have the pulldown problem.
