Hello

I have a DVX100B camera and I just noticed there seems to be small a dust hair in my in my viewfinder (it looks like a hair in a film gate) BUT it DOES NOT appear on the flip out or in shot footage.

Could this be a dead pixel in the viewfinder??

I did a black balance and even cleaned the viewfinder, the lens and the LCD flip and it just affects the Viewfinder.

Will this affect future footage?

Not sure what you are describing ( hair in a filmgate ), that looks more like a line then a dot (which is a burnt pixel).

If it is only in the viewfinder, it may just be a dust particle. You can remove the viewfinder by twisting it gently and pulling it off. You may need a can of pressureized air to blow in and around it cause it can be difficult to get the air up in there to blow out what you are refering to.

Your footage should not be effected. Even if a pixel burns out, Panny states that it will not effect the image (I read that somewhere, maybe the manual).
