Help! Creating a Split Screen in Vegas??

Hey, guys, please help...I have a multi-window, compositing question...

I'm editing a music EPK and have been searching high and low for how to create a four window/split screen look using Vegas. I know how to go into each individual clip and shrink it down using the EVENT window, but I"m using tons of footage, multiplied by 4 and reframing each clip everytime I load it would drive me NUTS. So, here's my question...

Is there any way, in Vegas, to change the track properties so that any video dropped into that track is immediately placed in one of the four corners of the screen??? I will then composite and basically have four clips running at the same time in the four corners of the screen. I have the Vegas 5 Spotted Eagle book, but I haven't found it in there.

Please help, I have a short time to finish this...Thanks for any help.

Use the "Track Motion" option at the track level...you can set a size and position for the track, then any clip dropped into that track will appear in that size and location.

I got it! Sweet dudes, thanks - to both of you. I'd never seen that VASST website before, uhrgl, but there's a ton of cool stuff on there. I might have to spend MORE money that I don't have. Interesting concept. I appreciate it. Now I can edit in peace...sort of.

Funny, but truly sick...oddly enough, I admire that. Probably because, I don't own one! :)

Very cool tidbit... learn something everyday here. thanks!

Barry, you owe me for a monitor cleaning and damaged paperwork, and a Mackie Control. All of which were covered in coffee that came out of my nose and mouth when I read your response.

More Real Estate...

More Real Estate...

I now see the purpose for one of those 30" monitors where space is a-plenty. Once you start compositing split screen stuff the real estate on my 19" monitor goes fast. And if I dare change the style of split screen...thereby needing to add a couple MORE video tracks...I'll need a magnifying glass to read what video is on what! Jeees!!
