HELP!!! crazy frame rate hack gone bad

Got some fun footage out of it.

Only thing is that now my camera is a little crazy. Now I know this trick came with a set of warnings that qualify it as being a dangerous thing to do but, so far as I can tell I'm the 1st with some issues. Lucky me.

1st: Now this is a biggie. No working tape mode. When I switch to tape it remembers my variable frame rate settings (wouldn't that be nice) and doesn't record at all.

2nd: It seems that my settings are now saved with or without my memory card. Now correct me if I'm wrong but in the past when I turned my camera off and removed the sd card if would return to the factory defaults. Now it remembers the settings saved last on the cards as if they are the defaults.


3rd: is that the camera no longer displays time code , but instead some crazy gibberish at the top that flickers somewhat random characters. The clips actually do have time code but this bug is more of an annoyance.

I have since changed all of the frame rate setting to approved frame rates. I have reformatted the sd card. I need help. If anyone out there is have similar problems I'm ready to bond. If there is a way to reset the firmware or something please advise. Others beware...your camera is sensitive.
 
1) are you actually sliding the P2/Tape switch over to "tape"? Have to do that with the power off.

2) Any time you load scene files from the card, or save them to the card, they're also saved into internal camera memory and will be set to those settings when you turn the power on or off. This is working all as it should; if you want to go back to the initial scene file settings just go to the save/init menu option and choose "initial".

3) Don't know what you mean, but more than likely you just pushed the "counter" button so now it's displaying one of the alternate displays. Just open the LCD panel and cycle through the COUNTER button options until you see the timecode option.
 
The tape was not still not working even after power cycling but after resetting the menu with your help everything is working as it should. Thanks for your help. You were right about the counter setting as well. Somehow it must have been bumped. So I guess if anyone can take something away from this; it is that if they have problems in the tape mode after changing there frame rate to reset thier menus. To bad you just can't record at 60 fps-2fps in tape mode...but alas that is a varicam. Now the scene files have no option for frame rate in tape mode as they should. :)
