Help! Corrupt P2 files

One card worth of footage I shot three weeks ago appears to be corrupt. When looking at it in the P2 import viewer in FCP (5.1.2) or in Panasonic's P2 Viewer application, only 3 clips even show up, even though there are 29 from the card. Of those 3, only one imports even semi-coherently -- the video's there but the audio cuts in and out. The other two play as noise. The 'lastclip.txt' file and most of the CLIP XML files are garbled when opened. I tried to reconstruct the LASTCLIP file, but that helped not at all.

Any ideas on how to retrieve this footage? I'm on the verge of a messy and spectacular suicide over this.

I wish I could, but that camera, as well as the card, were rentals and returned weeks ago. Thus my desperation. Is it possible to copy those files to a P2 card and stick it back in a camera?

If it copied corrupted files, there is probably nothing you can do now.
