Help. Camera won't turn off! HVX200

That's right, I flip the thumb switch to off and the camera stays on. Also, if I flip the switch from P2 to Tape nothing happens. It also won't go into P2 Read mode when I hit that button. Display, zoom, focus, all work but menu, power, tape/P2 don't work. I have to physically unlatch the battery to get it to turn off.
I log/transferred some clips into FCP, ejected both cards, disconnected the firewire cable and it just wouldn't turn off.

yup. that's a fairly common issue. happened with a rental 200 unit i had last year.
thought i was going nutty...

camera needs to be sent in and repaired.

Before you send it in for repair... Have you done a hard reset? With the reset button?

mine fell down this summer and had similar behaviour....service was super quick and price was ok....they moved to england but it was a good experience.
basically the shock had loosened a couple of connectors.....
