Help AF100 gods and godesses, lol!

I'm editing my sizzle-reel/trailer for my feature and the airport dialogue was a bit messy. I cleaned it up with FCP X and some of it sounds good but it's clearly dragging down the trailer. I'm having the actors come in to do ADR. I've never done ADR before. Can anyone share the best practices? I tried it myself to get a handle on how they might proceed, I found that miming to get the timing before actually delivering the lines works better for me. If there are any better ways to do this, please share.

Second issue, my portable 750Gb external was getting full so I moved FCP events and projects to a larger stay-at-home hard. I made sure to only touch files that I've finished and no longer use. However, I now have a yellow triangle on the trailer project. I don't see how moving my old files would affect my current project. It's a new event and a new project independent of everything else.

I went to the Apple community, downloaded Preference Manager, trashed preferences, no luck. Anyone have any experience with this?

What are the best practices when one wants to remove entire projects and not leave a trace of it next time one opens FCP X?

Thanks for your help.

ADR - in the past, we've always done it on Audiovision or ProTools - anything that allows you to play back a track while recording multiple other tracks. If you have the original dialogue (preferable), repeat it along the timeline with an equal gap between each, reflecting the rhythm of what they're saying. Play this back while recording - the talent then gets to talk along with the rhythm of the original, repeating with it and gradually delivering new versions in synch. Don't make the clips too long - cut them down into manageable rhythmical chunks.

If you don't have the original sound, try and create a temporary scratch version of what you're after, using your own voice, before getting talent in - and then do something similar to above.

FCP X - this helped me understand how the new project structure works - http://www.larryjordan.biz/sharing-projects-in-fcp-x/
