Ok.... Ive been searching for hours and I have yet to find a simple way to do this. I have a clip that I want to export out of avid and work on it in Afer Effects . Then I want to export out of AE and put it back on Avid. I am using 2 different machines and I have installed the avid codec on the computer with AE. Everytime I try to export using the avid meridien uncompressed codec, I get an error message that says " After Effects error: Quicktime export failed -- bad parameter (-50)." I have tried changing the composition settings so the project is 720x486 and 720x480, I've tried 601 and RGB ... to no avail. Also, when I exported from Avid I exported using the Quicktime Reference. When I import that clip into AE it says the clip is 640x480. Any ideas will be GREATLY appreciated. I'd rather not smash both my computers tonight! Thanks.

You should be able to export out of avid with QT mov not QT ref since its on a different computer. Use 601 and use native dimensions in avid settings. Import into AE should be fine but if it isn't you can always interpret footage to your desierable settings. I use something close to this method all the time and it works fine.
