I was working with my GH1 just fine.

I shoot in 720p60
I use FCP 6.0.6
I drop into a DVCHD 720p60 timeline
I log & transfer in AIC

I did 5 projects so far, all of which have been completed.
I have another production starting March 1st...

My FCP keeps crashing... I could have a blank project open and it just randomly crashes after a while.

The main problem is that I cannot log & transfer my video files anymore!
Whether the camera is connected through usb or not.

This all started happening recently.

The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed nattress & magic bullet looks.

But I used MB looks to grade an old project and it rendered out fine.

Please help....

I had this same problem, it is audio driver related to your system. Delete any demo audio plugins that you do not use and it will correct the problem.

I had this same problem for 5+ hours and figured it out myself

Your Welcome :)

audio plugins?

I didn't install any audio plugins... but I will look into it...

I did find that if the log and transfer window is not opened, fcp wont crash.

I can open up old projects and color and grade them with no problems... I can have it open for hours, render many tracks, etc... no crash

but if I open up the log and transfer window and wait for it to find my cam or if i specify a folder for it to look for file, after a few mins it crashes.

Audio Drivers, do you have any Logic Pro, Pro Tools, etc. on your system..... Look into that

I would try googling it. The preferences live in your library folder inside another folder called application support. There is then a final cut folder and the preference files are in there. But try to look up the exact process online. I know they show how to do this on Lynda.com. That's where I first learned about it.

/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Final Cut Pro 7.0 Prefs

Delete that. Restart the program.

I deleted the following:

Re: Trash and Restore FCP 6 Preference Files
by Alan Smith on Sep 18, 2008 at 8:20:00 am

There are four files to trash when trying to trash the preferences.

workstation>Mac HD>Users>Workstation>Library>Preferences>com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist

workstation>Mac HD>Users>Workstation>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data>Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs

workstation>Mac HD>Users>Workstation>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data>Final Cut Pro Obj Cache

workstation>Mac HD>Users>Workstation>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data>Final Cut Pro Prof Cache

When you delete these files and restart FCP each of these will be rebuilt.

It still did not fix the problem... PLEASE HELP

Open up console (Applications/Utilities/Console.app) next time it crashes and paste the relevant logs here.

The easiest solution is probably to just reinstall Final Cut Studio. Use a Final Cut Studio remover to get rid of it and then reinstall the thing.
