HELP - any FCP genius out there?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to capture the VGA feed from a PC graphics card to my Black Magic Decklink HD Extreme DVI input that is installed on my Mac Pro using FCP. I use a VGA to DVI converter, but it seems not to work...

According to the BlackMagic support team, "in order to be able to capture the video coming from the graphics card, the DVI output must be a TV resolution. If it is outputting a monitor resolution like 1024x768, this will not work and the DeckLink card will not see this. It must be outputting a TV resolution like 1920x1080 or 1280x720 in order for this to work."

Is there anyone with high editing knowledge that knows how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance

Best bet is to use a scan converter, which takes a computer's VGA output and turns it into the kind of video signal your card is looking for.

You can find good, used scan converters all over ebay.

Looks like that box will work, but ONLY if your Decklink box will accept HDMI video in. Doesn't have DVI out.
